There are different distance markers at the ranges for hitting different clubs – generally you should take a few clubs ( the ones you use the most) i.e. Driver/ 4 or 5 iron 7,8,9 iron to start as using all clubs will take too long and and minimize the number of balls you can practice with – unless you spend a fortune on hiring golf balls?

Should I buy Last Years Golf Equipment?

Question by Shawn: Should I buy Last Years Golf Equipment?
Would you recommend buying this years golf equipment over last years? There is a huge difference in the price, but can there really be that much difference in the club? I am leaning toward last years but I wanted to ask for some advice before I commit.

Answer by Jeff
I would recommend buying last years if you want to save some money. The resale value won’t be quite as high as a new model but the resale value for golf equipments pretty much sucks anyways. There probably isn’t going to be a huge difference in the club. I mean, buying this years over last years probably isn’t going to give you more distance or accuracy. You might even like the older one better.

I might go to a driving range. What should I expect?

Question by Fly girl: I might go to a driving range. What should I expect?
Someone suggested that I should get out and do some kind of physical activity to shake my mood. In particular, she suggested checking out a driving range. She also said it’s a great way to meet guys. Now, what is this? I know it deals with golf but how does it work? Is it actually fun or will I be bored to tears? Is it good physical activity? What kind of clothes are appropriate? And what type of men are in these places? I’m not really into sports normally and I’m very feminine. Will I look weird going to this type of place alone? Is this even a good idea?

Thanks.

Fly girl You would actually be better off asking this question by going to Sports==>>> Golf and see what they know
I’m a horrible golfer because I get really frustrated by the fact that while I can hit a ball that’s moving I can’t one that’s standing still.
If you just want to get a good work out go to a batting range ,buy 15 minutes of time and start hitting softballs
What you can expect at a driving range is a lot of guys hitting golf balls
There is absolutely nothing natural about hitting a golf ball and doing it properly is very much a learned skill
Usually what happens is that you bring your own clubs [woods, irons or putter ] and then you rent a bucket of golf balls and start working on your stroke .
Usually these places offer some kind of instruction
The reason that your friend suggested it as a way to meet guys,is that as rule golfers are a lot weathier than bowlers are and in some circles a golf course is where a lot of the business of big business actually takes place

How much longer should I drive at a regular course versus a driving range?

Question by Smelly: How much longer should I drive at a regular course versus a driving range?
A new ball should drive longer then a driving range ball, right? I usually hit between 200-230 yards at a driving range before my ball his the ground. I am using the same swing and power I would at a golf course. Also, by the way, I’m a total newbie. I have only been going to the driving range for 2 months.

depends on the ball and the ground hardness

What should you wear to the driving range?

Question by sabdguy26: What should you wear to the driving range?
I’m taking my girlfriend to a driving range because we’re both interested in taking up golf. Should we wear what we would on the course, or can we wear jeans?
EDIT – it’s just a driving range, it’s not an actual course or country club

You can wear whatever you want at the driving range usually…just wear something comfortable that isn’t going to hinder your golf swing. I wouldn’t recommend tight clothing or jeans…

as a top 100 clubfitter in the world i feel the best off the rack clubs are mizuno. for a low handicap the mp67 or mp60n irons, for a mid handicap the mx25 irons for a high handicap the mx900 irons, the mx500 driver and the f50 frairway woods are excellent also. for irons 3-pw you can expect to pay 699,to 999, a set.make sure whoever you get them from can also fit the lie angle to your husband. larry g.
