Columbus Ohio is a great city for golf, lots of great public courses.
The Memorial (Jacks tournament) is played here.
Some of my favorite (in no order):

The links at Echo Springs (new school layout, excellent)
    New Albany Links
Blacklick woods (championship course, nice muni)
    Blackhawk
    North Star (7500 yards)
    Cooks Creek
Champions (iffy conditions, muni, best layout, old school, difficult)
Deer Ridge (1 hr north, in the hills)
    Clover Valley (best greens)
    Buck Ridge
    Golf club Dublin
    Golf club Delaware
Foxfire is nice, the good course is too expensive.

All are very reasonable, between $ 25-$ 75 (mid season, weekend).
